Updated Proof of Funds for Canada Express Entry [Effective 5th July 2021]

Canada has made the most recent update to its Express Entry programme. To qualify for Express Entry, an immigrant must meet the new Proof of Funds. Both the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) have been updated to reflect these changes (FSTP). This new adjustment does not apply to you if you have a genuine employment offer from one of these programmes. The new update will begin on July 15, 2021, at the latest.

Note that you must include your spouse or dependent children in your calculations, even if they are:

Foreign national who holds a valid Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) may travel to Canada [Effective 21st June 2021]

Foreign nationals with a valid COPR issued on or before March 18, 2020 were exempt from Canada’s travel restrictions under previous rules. Those with a valid COPR granted after March 18, 2020, could only enter Canada if they met another exemption or were relocating permanently to Canada from the United States.

Due to travel limits or other COVID-19-related issues, many candidates were unable to enter Canada before their COPRs expired.

Individuals with expired COPRs should not book flights or attempt to go to Canada until IRCC issues them a new COPR.

More information on when and how to receive a new COPR will be published on the IRCC website soon for applicants with expired COPRs issued after March 18, 2020.

Upon arrival in Canada, all visitors, including those granted permanent residency, must comply with the COVID-19 health measures and standards.
